Commission-Free Food Delivery in Aberdeen
Aberdeen is a different food delivery market from Glasgow or Edinburgh. The consumer restaurant scene matters, but the real engine here is corporate catering: oil and gas company canteens, offshore staging operations, hotel and conference hospitality.
MealShift is launching in Aberdeen this year for both ends of that market. Priority zones: AB10, AB11 and AB15 for the city-centre hospitality and consumer drops, with extended van coverage for the corporate and offshore-staging work.
For consumer restaurants
Same model as our other UK cities. You take direct orders on your own site, we pick up and deliver, you pay a flat fee per drop instead of 25 to 35 percent commission. A typical Aberdeen takeaway doing £200 a day on the apps loses £50 to £70 a day to commission. On our model, that drops to a per-drop fee that volume discounts down further over time.
For corporate and offshore catering
This is where Aberdeen is different. Corporate catering contracts care more about reliability than novelty. Hospital and offshore canteen runs need vans, not mopeds. They need confirmed delivery windows, not “Uber estimates 18 to 24 minutes”. They need a single human point of contact, not a chatbot.
That’s the kind of delivery we set up properly. Per-trip pricing on van work, dedicated routing for repeat contracts, branded handover, photo proof-of-delivery and a named ops contact.
